Day 9 Sunday the 14th October 2018
Early morning Eddie and I left hotel arond 4:30am to have a look at Shinsen-Numa Swamp area.
We followed the direction from GPS at the rental car which took a longer time for us to miss the sun rise.
It was a terribly cold and windy morning.
My desire to see and feel as much as possible was grand but so was my fatigue from the big hike the day before.
Also I was as usual getting anxious that it took so long to get there.
Later on the way back to hotel we realized we detoured around the cliff earlier.
As always it was wonderful to be awake and feel the nature at the best time of the day I could say
in the end.
Today we travelled to Noboribetsu for the last day in Hokkaido.
It is the largest hot spring town in Hokkaido.
Historically it was designated as a health resort for injured soldiers in early 1900's
and it keeps its fame as the best onsen since.
So we knew this was one of the most famous destinations for tourists from neighboring countries
and even for Japanese people.
That's why we tried to avoid Saturday.
However we were shocked that millions of people were milling around outside and inside the hotel
and I felt overwhelemed with the complexities of the building sturctures already.
I missed those quiet and smaller hotels where we stayed so far.
Our room was very old and smelled of tobaco and undefined scents from overuses unpleasantly.
We went out for the famous Jigokudani trail but bumped into gazillions of people which ruined our peace of mind.
Nonetheless soon we got used to too many people and sort of enjoyed hot spring and buffet dinner.
