Good bye 2016

by Mt Solitary 2017. 1. 1.

My 2016 was almost perfect in many ways.

I wish my 2017 would be just same as 2016.

I had a lot of trips including multi day hiking's.

I want to do a lot of hiking trips in 2017 too.

Good thing,

when you're not too young any more,

you can concentrate on handful of things you love to do

and also you grab a simple feeling of happiness more often.

I've got persistent hay fever, intermittent headache

,and indigestion and re-flux problems

which I wish I can manage better this year.

A couple of days ago we had a video call with my parents.

I didn't think too much but

father's yellowish unhealthy complexion

shocked me on my phone screen

and made me feel a little pang of sadness.

It must have been a mutual feeling.

Father couldn't contain himself,

ah...you're getting old he just blurted it out.

We can't help but all feel sad about getting old and

reminiscent about by-gone times

from time to time.

I am lucky to have Eddie.

He keeps reminding me that getting old is a natural process

and no need to be sad about.

Also living here makes me look at things with a more relaxed attitude.

-----------------------

On the last day of 2016

Eddie and I went to Maitland Bay.

This is our favorite spot for the closest thing to swimming.

We walked 1.9 km to reach there from a national Park picnic area

and then climbed back up the same distance later on.

Apparently it's not for everybody

so it couldn't be too crowded there.

That's the main reason why we like to go there.

We parked our car around 11 am and walked down to the Bay.

Mostly people settled under the natural shades made from the rocks

or put up small colorful umbrellas in the middle of sands.

There were a few boats floating with their anchors dropped

in the middle of the ocean.

We had our lunch inside the tent

enjoying our view in front of us.

Cool breeze from the ocean

was just perfect.

Eddie swam a little bit and ran on the sands along the beach while

I was having fun with waves.

People were walking along the beach too.

I am always amazed with these people.

Free and relaxed.

Easy going with being exposed to the strong sun.

Never worried too much about their body shapes.

Casual about not washing away sea water later on.

Just drying with towels.

There was no shower booth at all obviously.

It was a quiet and content day.
