It was quite a difficult task to pronounce this Island from the beginning
and it happens often afterwards.
They say it to be 'cow-wa-ee' or 'kah-wa-ee' but according to Suze who
used to live in Honolulu for a long time( almost one and half years)
it should be 'ku-wa-ee'.
I am not a beach person and I thought Hawaii was done with me as one visit in 2016.
Not because I had seen it enough but because I haven't seen other places
good for hiking enough.
Suddenly winter escape plan to Hawaii was made.
Well, I didn't make a plan but I was totally ok with that.
I've been to Hawaii before so I felt I knew what to expect.
Also I suddenly started feeling excited about seeing Na Pali Coast in Kauai.

We took a 4:30 pm flight on Saturday at Sydney and arrived on Saturday 6 something
am at Honolulu,Oahu
After 9 hours flight we still acquired 10 hours more as a bonus.
After tossing and turning during unsettling night flight we were suddenly thrown into humid and
too hot weather.
Clothes we wore seemed unsuitable and uncomfortable.
We had millions of young crying babies on board that night.
It was a relatively cheap budget flight.
However the space between seats was not too bad.
No meal supplied on the flight was actually better.
No hustle bustle with the process.
We had this lovely couple who had three little ones and I loved watching them switching their roles
of looking after their kids with genuine respect.
I wasn't annoyed at all with noisy crying babies all over the plane about which I was quite proud of myself.
At certain point after 4 or 5 hours' flight when people got tired and drowsy
even inculding babies with lights softened dimly I was dozing off gradually.
I got startled and woke with two young mums' sudden loud voices.
They intermittently were shushing their little ones whenever they were interupped by their calling.
Their loud dialoges went on all the way till we landed at our destination.

Hot bland coffees with some snacks from Starbucks after a long wait were our breakfast before
we took the flight to Kauai at 9am local time.
My first impression towards Kauai was impossibly green lushiness.
Everywhere looked green...too deep green.
It was a relief that there was no high rise buidlings only greens everywhere.
I instantly loved this island so much.
I felt it was better than Maui.
Also local people in Kauai were very kind and helpful.
We picked up our rental car in no time and drove to Poipu which was in south coast.
Unfortunately our check in time at our accomodation was 3 pm so we decided to grab something for lunch
and to do some grocery shopping.
When we arrived at a shopping mall we realized we didn't know where the actual car key was.
It was apparent that there must be a key inside the car and that's how the car was working smoothly so far.
We called the rental company and tried to find out where they put the key inside the car.
After a long search we found a key between two seats in front.
They must have put the key on the centre console which was dropped in to the floor while we were moving.
OMG
Sun was mercilessly strong for my naked unprepared skins.
We had ahi poke for lunch at a famous place which was really nice.
From explosive hot temperature it was a relief to be in a cool area.
I was stading in front of the tall wooden screen behind which he was fixing our pokes.
I hoped he kept raw fish in the fridge behind it.
After a long uncomfortalbe flight plus a crude exposure in the sun we finally came to our 6 days' home.
As soon as we got inside we fell in love with the place.
It was a two story holiday house in a small resort compound surrounded by lush tropical trees.
Upstairs for Suze and downstairs for us.
I was impressed with the owner's personal and delicate touches.
I liked dozens of mangoes and cool water bottles in the fridge too.
Olive oil and all sorts of good quality of tools and amenities were there to my happiness.
We had a long nap after shower with the fan on.
There was no aircontioning in the property which was sometimes inconvenient but it was good enough.
Especially it makes me feel more natural and enviornmental friendly.
I made a spagetti bolognese with a pack of minced turkey meat and vegetables for dinner.
We ate outside at the balcony listening to the unknown birds.
Suze said she didn't want to move out because of my good cooking skills.
hahaha
It was a fair bit of amount but both of them finished all.
We strolled at Poipu Beach Park after dinner enjoying Sun Set.
Tropical beach was quite different from wild vacant Australian beaches.
As it got darkening I saw people were still in the water swimming,
many people gathering taking photos of Sun Set ,
smokes all over from bbq with palm trees swaying at the background.
Eddie said this beach had unique vibes which made us splutter at heart.
I could get why people were up to tropical islands a little bit.
It was successful in every aspect for Day one.
We went to bed with the ceiling fan on.
It was tranquil and peaceful at night and I slept well.
I even felt like I was home.
